    • What were the girls wearing in the commercial?
    • What kind of event were they going to?
    • What kind of people wear this?
  • After a few minutes of answering the questions have students discuss their answers with a partner. After two minutes, compile a list on the teacher's wiki of answers students came up with.
  • Pass out handouts (Japanese questions on yukata, vocabulary worksheet). Briefly go through information through reading strategy (popcorn, etc).
  • Have a model come up to the front and try to put on a Yukata. The teacher will not explain anything. Once done, have the students say if they think it looks like the commercial. The teacher will use the vocabulary and grammar point as they demonstrate. As teacher dresses, students choral practice.
  • Start students on the webquest after passing out the webquest packet. Allot ten to fifteen minutes for research.
  • Split students into five or six groups and give them Yukata. As a group they can only use Japanese to dress one member in Yukata. If time is available have them each have a turn to try it. Students can only speak in Japanese although they may use their vocabulary worksheets. They can also use any internet sites under the webquest to assist them in dressing.
  • After enough time has passed return Yukata and have all students get back to their seats. Explain the video and presentation portion of the webquest with the students and address questions. As a product, students will answer the background knowlege questions above on their wiki, fill out the research question worksheet, create a narration-less video, a presentation to accompany the video providing narration live, a wiki entry, wiki reflection and three blog commentaries.
  • During the next class, students will begin writing scripts and preparing to record their video. If they are ready they may begin recording using the class Yukata.
